Flame Blossom is a three dimensional painting using watercolor on sculpted watercolor paper and paper pulp mounted on a painted backboard.

In many cultures throughout time, fire has been a symbol of warmth and light. It is believed to ward off despair and darkness and offers hope.  Flowers in bloom symbolize beauty, new beginnings, and growth. In this time of despair, due to our country’s constitutional crisis, Flame Blossom offers quiet reflection on hope for a new beginning and a renewed confidence in our democracy.
